Short introduction to Sports Bio-mechanics

Today we are living in modern era, our life is very easy because of the advance technology. This era is one of the most exciting era for those who  wants to do something crazy. Whenever i glance on my surrounding i observe people how they are connected to the world today. Today everyone is global because science has created a common platform for all. Sports today is also global , millions of people today are sports loving , millions are participating in games and millions of researchers are working on the different areas of the sports.
Sports bio-mechanics is the most advance field of sports today. Thousands of sports bio-mechanics labs are established with maximum technology to carryout the research on the athletes. Sports bio-mechanics labs are very expensive to install because of which there is no any lab in the universities of Pakistan. As we know Pakistan is one of the active sports countries but there is no any bio-mechanics lab in Pakistan today, apart from the lab Pakistan's sports federations are not providing the facilities for the players. There is very hidden talent in Pakistan but there is no proper planning in Pakistan to unleash that hidden talents. In Pakistan the federations use to bring the athletes in the ground ones and then we don't see that people again there are many examples of such players. So i was talking about the sports bio-mechanics, here we have three different terminologies sports, bio and the mechanics , all have different meanings and are very unique fields but are very connected as well. Sports is any physical activity which involves physical exertion and skill in which a team or an individual competes against the team or for fun, bio is all about the life and the last one is mechanics which is related to physic in which we study the motion of different objects and the human body. So these all are different fields but whenever we will combine these all we get one term sports bio-mechanic. Now sport bio-mechanics is the sub filed of sports where we study the movements of the players during different games. We actually apply the physics laws on the athletes to get the maximum performance and we can say that sports bio-mechanics is physics of sports. There are many applications of bio-mechanics in sports for example

  1. To enhance the players performance 
  2. We will reduce the risk of injuries in athletes
  3. bio-mechanics is use while the manufacturing of player kit
  4. All most all sports equipment's are manufacture after bio-mechanical experimentation 
  5. today the sports infrastructure is also finalized after the bio-mechanical tests 
I will explain the bio-mechanical analysis of every specific game in future posts but here i will just mention the parameters of physics which are measured in sports-bio mechanics laboratories. If there is a cricket player then we will find the angle of the bowler , at which he is releasing the ball , then we can easily find out the speed of the bowler his running distance before releasing the ball. There is unique machinery to carryout all theses values, Then come to the batsmen we can find the strike rate, the maximum force applied by the player to hit the ball, we can find the angle of the batsmen while playing the shot.
If we are talking about the sport injury , there are many dangerous games which cause many chronic injuries which are sometimes not curable so bio-mechanics helps a lot to reduce this factor. when we will get the perfect angles to play then there will be no injury while playing  the game.
Kit of a player is very important part , so today bio-mechanics is applied while manufacturing the player kit for example the sport shoes. different games have different sports shoes according to their playing area. Sports shoes are manufacture in way that they could bounce in many fields and may resisted in others. Mouth guard, helmet , shin guards and many others are manufacture after the bio-mechanical tests.
Sports goods are also design bio-mechanically , they consider the weight of equipment, the shape , and many other values are taken before there manufacturing.
Sports infrastructure today is one of the important discussions especially when any country want to host the Olympic games. Because Olympic committee  need the multi functional infrastructure where all most 3 sports can carry in one field by its modification. Olympic committee has a specific criteria .
