Fitness test of players ๐Ÿ˜Š

Fitness testing is very important for an athlete when they recover from an injury. Mostly the fitness test is compulsory for an athlete who is part of any national or international squad. The concerned sports federation will conduct the fitness test before giving permission to an athlete to participate in any national event.

If I will be the coach of an athlete having an injury, and when he will back on the field, I will surely conduct a fitness test to know the strengths and weaknesses of my player. Through the test, I will come to know the power, flexibility, and strength of my player after the injury and the recovery period.

Secondly, I will find out the baseline of my player where he or she stands after that injury. Once I will identify the level of his/her playing, then I will work on them to get back to their previous position. I will work on them till they get their 100% in their game. According to me, this is a very compulsory point, because it’s important to know where your player stands after an injury. Sometimes severe injuries took a long time to recover because of that athletes use to forget their skills.

Another reason to conduct a fitness test will be the comparison between the current level with the previous best levels. I will benchmark their own previous best levels. Then I will work on them till they achieve their benchmark.

I will conduct the fitness test, then I will design a program for the player. I will design the plan according to his/her current situation and activity level. There are many situations when athletes suffer from big traumas, which let them lose their all abilities. They totally forget their skills, techniques, and severe injuries also adversely affect their physical appearance. So I will keep all these things in my mind and will design a very comfortable but perfect program.

I will test my athlete to monitor their progress. I will also change the programs on the bases of their performance. I will increase the training load gradually, I will change the drills daily, and will try to create a smooth environment. That’s why fitness test is very important for athletes who just recover from an injury.

I will definitely test my player to set new goals day by day. I will set goals for a duration and will work on them after achieving those very goals, I will set another goal to work on. Goal setting is very important for success, so I will set goals that will be achievable, realistic manageable and time-bound.

Sometimes our test will help other people like the researchers, they will use our data for case studies. This is how our test data will help other professionals to study their cases. These studies will further use in medical science for more advancement in the sports field.

I will conduct the test every week to get the results. Only a test can give us the result of our player. When I will get the result it will be easy for me to know the position of my player, and where they finally stand.

Another interesting point is the motivation of athletes when athletes will know about the weekly test they will become more motivated toward their performances, and they will try to complete themselves every week. Players will give their best for good results in every fitness test.

Sometimes very impulsive players will become angrier and they will change that negative energy into positive one and they will do more in all the tests and in the last, they will compete themselves.

Fitness testing of both junior and senior players is a feature of contemporary professional football codes. Testing of physiological and performance measures in football generally falls into one of three areas: determining the physiological and movement demands of competition (game analysis), assessing the physical and performance attributes of players (testing), and quantifying the discrete effects of training and conditioning programs (training). Fitness testing is conducted for several purposes: to monitor progress (adaptation), assess training (assessment), and team selection (selection), identify strengths and weaknesses (evaluation), develop training zones (prescription), and predict performances (prediction). In football, the monitoring of improvements in fitness, assessing the impact of specific training activities, and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of individual players, are the primary aims of testing. Developing individualized training zones and predicting performances are more specific to individual sports and are not directly relevant to football.

So every coach should have a fitness test on their players who have just recovered from injuries. This is very important for all including athletes, sports federations, and coaches.
