Ride on KKH the wonder of world

Gilgit Baltistan is eminent for its natural beauty, cultural values and historical background. At times Pakistanis, mingle the history of Pakistan with Gilgit Baltistan but they are wrong here, because Pakistan was established on 14 august 1947, while Gilgit Baltistan got its freedom on 1 November 1947 from Dogra Raj. You can go through the history of Gilgit Baltistan that is available on internet but let me tell you short introduction about my land. I am going to write about my journey from oldest silk route of Rawalpindi to Gilgit Baltistan.

HEY! have you ever been to Gilgit Baltistan through the very oldest silk route? Believe me its more than an adventure, this journey will definitely give you a lifetime remembering experience. Let me mention some people who are, our heroes;  the drivers of NATCO( northern areas transport company). Yes there are many other transport companies but I have my personal experience with NATCO that’s why I mentioned them at the first place. Oh let me tell you a secret , sometimes I call them devils as well (giggling), because they are always in hurry but naah, they are familiar to these routes. Honestly speaking whenever I think of this bumpy roads, and rash driving, it’s like a horror dream for me, Ah! I guess I should request my parents to give me some sleeping drugs till I reach home because that nausea hits me hard.

I use to enjoy the mountains and green pastures till Chilas and yaa I enjoy these moments till the end because, I have in my mind that I am going to back after months so I catch all the scenes in my phone camera, heart starts drowning there, the pictures of family members are appearing before my eyes… this situation is really very pitiful and at time if that bus stops, I swear I will run back to home. At that time it looks like you are going somewhere, where there is nobody, where there is no life sometimes it get too worst that looks like you are dying…Omg I am not going to read this Infront of my family otherwise they will not let me go back to Lahore because they thought that, I am very brave for this journey and I pretend Infront of them that I am very happy going, when they are on my town’s bridge to drop me. This is last semester of mine so I am not going to do this Insha’Allah. Oh sorry I left the story of my journey, umm when I cross Chillas afterwards, the nightmare becomes a little more worse. The Kohistan is not so my place because that deserts never ends phew. It’s like you are between the mountain and the river I use to close my eyes, again the bus drivers are very clumpy again sorry actually they are perfect for this road but I don’t like speedy cars and buses on hilly areas so this makes me frighten I would say freak me out.

This science is very complex and the way I studied the physic , I never left any concept of it so here is the point of roofs of NATCO, people load the roof with a lot of luggage and I hope you people know physic behind it so that thing is stuck in my mind. Let me tell you I travel alone so I use to have VIP seat, the seat next to the driver so, whenever he reach the corners, I remind the luggage on the roof and I close my eyes till we cross the corner. Really during that whole journey I lost a lot of mints of life on scary points.

Another alarming thing apart from journey is hotels where NATCO drivers stop the bus for dinner, breakfast and some rest. I don’t want to remember that hostels this time, because I have made a biryani for me just now  (yummy), if I will discuss this thing here then I will not able to eat this dish so sorry , if you have been to Gilgit then definitely you know the situation if not then please visit that hotels once…. you will never forget ever. :p

So I become excited when I reach Abbottabad because after that the petrifying routes are about to end and after that I put my earphones and enjoyed the songs. I forget to tell you that I never use my earphones on the journey before Abbottabad because I love pop music and it has fast and sharp sounds so this sound and the external condition make another melody which makes me uncomfortable.

When I reach the peer Wadai Rawalpindi , believe me it looks like I am newly born and going to start my new life. “ohhhh” I just utter this ohh after writing this so u can imagine what would I feel when I reach the pindi safely. So this is all about my journey hope you will enjoy and if have not been to Gilgit then don’t be frightened you will be okay because everybody has their own thoughts and feelings. Bye buddies stay safe and keep praying for all.
